PRINCIPAL
Sheila Thomley is a veteran educator of grades 3-12 , serving the State of Florida in both the Taylor and Hillsborough County School Districts . Her education includes: Florida State University-B.A. in Curriculum & Instruction, FAMU-MEd in Elementary Education, and Argosy University- EdS- in Educational Leadership. She is presently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership with Argosy University-Tampa. Mrs. Thomley is certified in the areas of Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education K-12 and Educational Leadership K-12.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Pamala Leonard has been with Tampa Charter since 2003 and has experience educating students in grades 3-8. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Miami and is currently finishing her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. Mrs. Leonard is currently our Assistant Principal, ESE Specialist, Gifted Program Coordinator, and ESOL Resource Teacher. She is certified in Middle Grades Mathematics, Gifted Education, and Exceptional Student Education.

Caryn Martinez received her B.A. in Elementary Education and English Language Arts from Hunter College of the City University of New York. She is presently working toward her Master's Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. She has earned her FCAT Writing Rubric Proficiency and is in the process of obtaining a State of Florida Reading Endorsement. This year Ms. Martinez serves as Lead Teacher, as well as Reading Instructor, for students in grades 3-8.

Melanie Cella has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from Texas Tech University and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida. She is certified to teach all subjects in Elementary (Grades 1-6) and Exceptional Student Education. Ms. Cella has experience in traditional public schools and as a director for Sylvan Learning Centers.


Hector Colón is a Biologist from Tampa, Florida. He holds a B.S. in Biology and Public Health from University of North Florida and is certified in Science Education. A new member to the Tampa Charter School community, Mr. Colón will be a positive addition.



Bethany Kanach graduated from Central Connecticut State University with her Bachelors of Education. Mrs. Kanach is certified in Social Studies Education. She spent 5 years teaching in a day care/ home-schooling school where she directed the elementary school program. Her most recent assignment before coming to TCS was at Silas Dean Middle School in Wethersfield Connecticut.

Sylvia Matthews  has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University. She has taught grades 3-6 in the state in private schools, traditional public schools and charter schools. Mrs. Matthews is certified in all subjects for the elementary grades 1-6 and in all subjects for the middle grades 6-9. Mrs. Matthews is certified for Elementary Education (Grades 1-6), all Middle Grades Subjects (5-9), Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). She is married and the mother of three sons.

Alisa Saladino has been with Tampa Charter School since it opened in 2003. She is the lead Para-Professional and works with students in grades 3-8. Ms. Saladino is a long-time resident of Tampa and is the mother of three sons.


Eva Tossas serves as a Para-Professional for Tampa Charter School. She works with students in grades 3-8 and is the mother of two sons.




Cindy Leitschuh currently serves as the school secretary and as a data processing clerk. She is the mother of two daughters.
